What is the Royal Winter Agricultural Fair?
Since 1922, farmers, growers, producers, and homesteaders across Canada have flocked to the city to display their finest livestock and agricultural goods.
A group of prominent farmers and riders joined together after the First World War to organize an exhibition showcasing Canada’s greatest agricultural products. Shorthorn cattleman W.A. Dryden led the group, which had a strong sense of Canada’s capacity to compete on a global scale.
The group, which lacked for nothing in ambition, requested and gained full support from all three tiers of government, earning them the title “Royal” from King George V of England.
The construction of the Royal Coliseum, a famous landmark still serving as a welcoming sight for travelers entering Toronto, would start in early 1921 in preparation for the first Fair that November.
Unfortunately, the 1921 Fair would have to wait until the next year due to construction delays that prevented the facilities from being ready in time.
Despite the early setback, the 1922 Fair was a rousing success, far exceeding expectations. It established The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair’s reputation as one of the best in the world.

The Royal Horse Show
This year’s royal horse show returns with a bash of a 10-day event featuring some of the top breed horses from all over Canada. The royal horse show will begin on 4th November and continue till 13th November. In this event, the horse rider with his horse is paired with a dog. And when the competition begins, both the horse and the dog have to go through their individual courses, and together the team that completes the course in the shortest time wins the game.
